Allison M. Charette translates literature from French into English. She has received an NEA Fellowship in Literary Translation and a PEN/Heim Translation Fund Grant, been selected for the Translation Lab residency at Art OMI, been nominated for the Best of the Net, and translated supertitles for performances at Carnegie Hall. She founded the Emerging Literary Translators’ Network in America and has served on the board of the American Literary Translators Association as the Program Committee Chair. Allison’s translations have been published by Restless Books, QC Fiction, the New York Times, Words Without Borders, Two Lines, The Other Stories, Epiphany, SLICE Literary Magazine, Tupelo Quarterly, InTranslation, the SAND Journal, and others.
Allison has lived in several regions throughout France while studying and teaching English to schoolchildren. She currently resides in western New York with her husband, son, and two cats.
